Then came an image, a name, and a promise, with a deliberate silence where the song should have been, until “LOST IN YOUR LOVE” finally arrived and made the wait feel like part of the plan. In an era when everyone shares everything the second it exists, DAV-EL did the opposite and trusted the mystery. Under the restraint there is real substance: warm melodies, cinematic textures, a pop instinct sitting inside the electronic sound. We talked with him about that choice, about slowing down on purpose, and about what he most wants this music to do: reach people’s hearts and hand someone a moment of joy. Music Authentic: “LOST IN YOUR LOVE” has been out a few days now, under a name nobody knew a month ago. What has releasing it told you that making it never could?
DAV-EL: As an artist or songwriter, the process of creating a song and the decision to share it with the public are two very different experiences. Creating requires feeling connected to inspiration and to the emotions needed to tell the story you want to share. Releasing it, on the other hand, forces you to think differently, drawing on a different kind of creativity to reach listeners and working from a new perspective. Both stages are exciting, fun, and rewarding, but I also learned that releasing a track means connecting with your entire team to enhance and elevate what you created on your own.
Music Authentic: Everyone else is broadcasting everything, the kitchen table, the bed, the unfiltered day, all of it, all the time. You did close to the opposite: you led with an image, a name, and a promise, and held the song back. What made you trust the enigma over the reveal?
DAV-EL: I believe every project has its own maturation and growth stages and needs to evolve naturally. Taking a pause to contemplate each phase allows you to enjoy it more and connect deeply with every moment. Pausing to spark interest before sharing felt like the best way to reach people, offering a deliberate attempt to slow down the fast pace at which we live today.
Music Authentic: Of everything you could have opened this project with, you led with this one. Was “LOST IN YOUR LOVE” the safe choice or the dangerous one, and what made it earn the first slot?
DAV-EL: Starting this journey with “Lost in Your Love” wasn’t about choosing the safe or risky route. It was simply one of the first songs that sparked the need in me to share my work with people. Regardless of the outcome, it is a song I hold very dear, and above all, I feel it carries a special energy through its message.
Music Authentic: Is “LOST IN YOUR LOVE” the sound you actually wanted, or the closest you could get to it before it was time to let go? There’s a point where a song has to be released whether or not it’s perfect. Did you reach that peace with this one, or release it in spite of not reaching it?
DAV-EL: From the moment I finished writing it and connected with the melody, I knew it was the song I wanted to share. You always strive to deliver the best version possible, and others might feel it could have had different nuances, but deep down, I felt it sounded exactly as it was meant to. I am very happy with the final result.
Music Authentic: Who did you really make this for? Not the audience a marketer would name, but the single listener who was in your head when you were deep inside the track.
DAV-EL: Every creative process leads you to explore life moments, experiences, situations, and reflections. My intention is to reach the hearts of people who dare to live life intensely.
Music Authentic: Your own description puts pop influences inside the electronic and cinematic sound. What does the pop instinct give you that the other two can’t, and do you ever have to rein it in?
DAV-EL: Pop influences allow you to tell a story more effectively within the world of sounds and rhythms found across the various dimensions of electronic music.
Music Authentic: FEEL, CONNECT, EVOLVE is the line the whole project stands on. Those are easy words to print and hard things to do. Which of the three are you still working out how to actually pull off?
DAV-EL: I try to work holistically; I view each of these words as a leg of a table. For a song to allow you to connect, it first needs to evoke real emotion. Once you achieve those goals, the person who felt that emotion and connected with it can evolve internally in whatever way they choose to.
Music Authentic: Is DAV-EL a dream you’ve carried quietly for a long time and are only now letting surface, or a turn off a road you were already traveling? What does the name actually mark, an arrival or a departure?
DAV-EL: My wish is for this to be a starting point that inspires many people. It’s an opportunity I wouldn’t have imagined, but it presented itself, and I hope it proves to be genuine and long-lasting.
Music Authentic: “Sound without limits” is the promise, and yet you chose the single, the most confined form there is: a few minutes, one idea, nowhere to wander. Is that limit the enemy of the promise, or the only thing that makes it mean anything?
DAV-EL: I decided on a single because I felt it stayed true to the style of the project and reflected how the song was originally born. The promise lies in the idea of continuously exploring different emotions and musical styles over time.
Music Authentic: Right now anyone can type a sentence into an app and have a finished song in minutes, and the platforms are filling with exactly that. What do you think a person still puts into a track that a machine handing out instant songs never will?
DAV-EL: What is happening in daily life with social media and technology is mirrored in music: excessive exposure paired with emotionally hollow ideas. Human beings can offer something machines never will: real substance, genuine feelings, and true life experiences conveyed through human creativity.
Music Authentic: Past the modest first-single answers: what is the real thing this project exists to reach, the summit you’re climbing toward even if it takes years and you never say it out loud again?
DAV-EL: My goal is simply to reach the heart of every single person who listens to this song. The summit is found in generating a smile, a moment of joy, or a moment of reflection.
Music Authentic: You’ve called this the first step. What does the next one have to prove that this one couldn’t yet?
DAV-EL: Like any project, I hope this is the first step of many. Every step is important, there is always a first step, and this one won’t be better or worse than what is to come. However, I consider it deeply significant simply because it was the first. My ultimate hope is that future steps continue to touch people’s hearts.
